The syrup

In this recipe

Agave Syrup¼ oz7 ml

Agave syrup is agave nectar thinned with warm water: 2 parts agave to 1 part water by weight (about 1 cup agave to ⅔ cup water).

our 2:1 agave syrup is about two-thirds nectar; 1 barspoon of nectar is about 1 1/2 barspoons (roughly 1/4 oz) of ours

As printed: 1 barspoon agave nectar (undiluted)

Where it comes from

Phil Ward created it at Death & Co in 2007. It was an Old Fashioned built on reposado tequila with a smoky splash of mezcal, and it helped introduce many American drinkers to mezcal.
