Privacy

The short version
We don’t sell personal data and we don’t run pop-ups or tracking-heavy ad scripts. Your unit preference (US or metric), checked-off ingredients and similar conveniences are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and never sent to us.
Analytics
We count visits with Umami Cloud, a cookie-less analytics service. It records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your browser, operating system, device type and approximate country. We also send it:
- which product, store and button you clicked when you follow a shopping link;
- which signup form you used (never your email address);
- the syrup, style and size when you print labels;
- how fast the page loaded and any script errors, so we can fix slow or broken pages.
We strip everything after the "?" and "#" in addresses before anything is sent, so names you type into the gift planner or label maker stay in your browser. Umami sets no cookies, and we don't build profiles or follow you across sites.
If you join our email list, we store your email address with our email provider solely to send the emails you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon), that retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you (normally just your email address, if you subscribed) and ask us to delete it: hello@makesimplesyrup.com. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK (GDPR) have additional rights, which we honor.
