Make Simple Syrup is a small, independent site about homemade syrups: the 5-minute classic and the flavored versions that make coffee, cocktails, tea, sodas and cakes better.

What we believe

• Recipe first. Every page opens with the answer and the recipe. No life stories, no pop-ups.
• Exact amounts. Every recipe stores its quantities once, precisely, and converts them to US cups or metric grams, scaled to the batch you want.
• Simple wins. Most syrups need a pot, a spoon and a clean bottle. Fancy gear is optional, and we say so.

How we develop recipes

We start from the techniques used by professional bars and pastry kitchens, compare the most-loved home versions, then write a single clear method with realistic yields and conservative shelf lives. Where people commonly go wrong (crystallized syrup, bitter herbs, cloudy fruit syrup), we put the fix right in the tips.

How the site is funded

Recipes, the calculator and the label maker are free. When you buy something through a “Check price” link we may earn a small commission, at no cost to you. We never let that decide what we recommend. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
